King Kamehameha Day Celebration Makeke and Luau

Kawaiaha'o Church is proud to present its Annual King Kamehameha Day Makeke & Luau Celebration on Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 8:30am to 3:30pm.  This celebration honors Ka Mo'i Kamehameha Nui, the unifier of the Hawaiian People.  His strength, wisdon, mercies and grace provided the foundation for his descendents, who continue to use those same values to build a nation in Jesus Christ.  We invite you to join us in this Special Day of Recognition & Celebration of Kawaiaha'o Church.  All proceeds will be used to support the vision statement and programs of Kawaiaha'o Church.

Schedule of Events

The Parade, will begin at ‘Iolani Place at 9:00AM. Special Seating to view the parade in front of Kawaiaha‘o Church grounds will be available to VIP Dine-In Lūʻau ticket holders.

The Kawaiahaʻo Annual Mākeke, from 8:30AM to 3:30PM, features local artisans sharing their unique craft and gift items.

The Lūʻau, from 11:30AM to 2:30PM, will feature generous servings of HOMEMADE: ʻImu kālua Puaʻa (pig), Chicken Long Rice, Squid Lūʻau, Smoked Puaʻa, Lomilomi Salmon, Poke, ʻOpihi, Uʻala, Haupia, Kūlolo, Pineapple, Cake, Juice and much, much, more.  Enjoy continuous entertainment.

The Take Out Boxed Lūʻau lunches will be available from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM at the lūʻau for walk ins, or at our special drive-through location on Mission Lane behind the Kawaiahaʻo School.

Tickets & Reservations are available right now.  Ticket prices are:  $20 (Take Out), $25 (Dine-In) and $40 VIP Dine-In which includes Valet Parking, VIP Parade Viewing and Reserved Lūʻau Seating, and Table Service. If you purchase eight (8) or more Dine-In tickets in one transaction, a table will be reserved for you and your party. 

For tickets, complete the order form and send it with your check made payable to Kawaiahaʻo Church Lūʻau13, to Kawaiahaʻo Church, 957 Punchbowl St, Honolulu, HI  96813 before May 15th.  We’ll hold or send your tickets along with your order confirmation immediately.  

 

Zumba Fitness Dance Class

Come Zumba with Rodney at Kawaiaha'o Church Gym every Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Let's move our bodies and sweat off some of those extra pounds.  If you have two left feet, no problem because I have two right.  It doesn't matter if you're an experienced Zumba student or first timer.  We will have fun, laugh and before you know it the hour will pass.  Don't worry, no one is watching.  "LET"S GO!!"  

Classes will begin July 1st and will continue every Sunday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Subject to change or rescheduled for church events.

Hale Kulia

Nestled in the heart of Waimea on the Big Island, rests a large home with a living room, built-in fireplace, three bedrooms/two full baths, a dining room, full kitchen, laundry room and a screened lanai. It can comfortably house 10-12 adults and is fully furnished with kitchen equipment, bath and bed linen and washer/dryer appliances. Live-in caretakers occupy the basement of Hale Kulia and maintain the home and gardens.

Occupancy is available to members, non-members and staff of Kawaiaha‘o Church. The church offers a discounted rate for members and their immediate family (i.e. parents, grandparents and children). A higher market rate is charged to non-members.

Hale Kulia may be reserved by contacting the business office at 469-3000. The office is open from Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Rates are provided upon request.
